- Highlighting Heinsohn
Tommy Heinsohn was there for it all. With nine seasons wearing a Celtics uniform, another nine as head coach and 39 years calling games as a color analyst, Heinsohn had a hand in the franchise story over six decades and 17 NBA World Championship titles. Along the way he won NBA Rookie of the Year and NBA Coach of the Year awards, and in 2015 Heinsohn became just the fourth person to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach. Off the court, fans relished Tommy’s signature phrases and colorful descriptions as a broadcaster. Simply put, Heinsohn not only called Celtics history – he made it.
