Maxing Out on Cedric
Date: 1980s
Boston’s first-round pick of the 1977 NBA Draft, Cedric Maxwell had a prolific career with the Celtics. Over eight seasons, Maxwell averaged double-digit point totals every year except for his rookie campaign. He went on to become a two-time NBA World Champion and named Most Valuable Player of the 1981 NBA Finals. The Celtics honored Maxwell in 2003 by retiring his No. 31.
