In Game 7 of the 1984 NBA Finals, the Celtics sported a double-digit lead early in the fourth quarter and fans at Boston Garden, as well as their star forward, began to celebrate a 15th NBA World Championship title. The Los Angeles Lakers would make it close, but it was Larry Bird and Dennis Johnson who made shots down the stretch to seal the victory. The celebration began in earnest with 26 seconds remaining as Bird was fouled. Bird met Johnson at the Celtics bench with a messy high-five and simply said “Pow!” to each other.
