Closing on Hauser
An undrafted forward from the University of Virginia, Sam Hauser was a two-way player who split time between the Boston Celtics and G League Maine Celtics during his rookie season. He emerged as a solid 3-point shooter during his G League stint and averaged nearly 17 points a game. At the NBA level, Hauser appeared in 26 regular-season games, recording 43.2 percent shooting from downtown (19-of-44). He also played six postseason games. “I think I’ve gotten better throughout the year, I think I’ve shown that in the G League, getting minutes there, but I have a different role when I’m with the Celtics,” he said. “So I just try to make the most of what I have to do for them to make them good.” In summer 2022, the Boston Celtics signed Hauser to a three-year contract.
