Members of the 1961-62 Celtics signed a basketball for Bob Cousy after he became only the second player in NBA history to score 15,000 career points. On November 25, 1961, Cousy met the mark on a 20-foot push shot just 1:47 into a game held at Boston Garden. He went on to score 22 points as Boston shut down the New York Knicks, 116-96. Cousy scored 16,960 points in his Hall-of-Fame career, all but five in a Celtics uniform.
