Cousy’s Life on the Road
Date: 1950s to 1960s
Life as a professional basketball player kept Bob Cousy constantly on the road. Having played a game on his wedding night, he promptly left for a two-week road trip the next week. As he grew older, Cousy grew to hate the travel associated with professional basketball and the demands it made on his family. He once said, “My daughters would grow up and get married and what would I remember? A thousand hotel rooms?”
