Doubly Satisfying for Bill

Player-coach Bill Russell celebrated at the Los Angeles Forum with Celtics fans after winning the 1968 NBA World Championship title. In doing so, Russell became the first Black head coach to win a title in major North American professional sports. Russell called the win “one of the greatest victories of all the championships we’ve won.”
