Date: 1995-96 season
The Celtics still played games at an arena on Causeway Street on top of North Station, but it wasn’t Boston Garden. The new FleetCenter (later TD Garden) hosted its first Celtics game on October 25, 1995, a preseason loss against the Houston Rockets. Boston got its first regular season win in the new arena on November 8 against the Phoenix Suns. Even with the excitement of a new home, the Celtics missed the playoffs for just the ninth time in team history. Future Hall-of-Famer Dino Radja led the team in scoring and rebounding while Rick Fox, Dana Barros, David Wesley and Todd Day all averaged at least 12 points per game.
