Good Neighbors at the Garden
Date: ca. 1960s
Boston Garden sat across Causeway Street from the historic Bulfinch Triangle neighborhood. The mixed-use area was laid out by famed architect Charles Bulfinch on the grounds of the former Mill Pond. Its proximity to North Station soon made it a transportation hub marked with hotels and taverns as well as a manufacturing center. After a period of decline, the Triangle was revitalized as a mixed-use neighborhood, the original intent of Bulfinch. Thousands of Celtics fans visited bars and restaurants of the neighborhood during a trip to Boston Garden.
