The Celtics met the St. Louis Hawks in the NBA Finals in four of Tommy Heinsohn’s nine seasons as a player. Heinsohn helped the Celtics win three of those matchups. During the 1957 NBA Finals, which the Celtics won in seven games, the rookie Heinsohn led the team with 24 points per game. His 12.6 rebounds per game were second on the team, behind Bill Russell’s eye-popping 22.9 rebounds per game.
