One of the most beloved players in Celtics history, John Havlicek was known for more than just one magical play in 1965. The 13-time All-Star and eight-time NBA World Champion worked as hard as anyone on the court. At his 1984 Hall of Fame induction, Havlicek said, “I never thought I’d ever be in the Hall of Fame. I was just a blue-collar worker who came to work every day, and if people got some enjoyment out of seeing me play that was fine.” TD Garden displays one of Havlicek’s classic No. 17 jerseys in the arena today.
