K.C. the Coach
Date: ca. 1974
When his playing days with the Celtics ended, K.C. Jones went into coaching. After spending some time as an assistant coach and in the ABA, Jones was tasked with taking the talented Washington Bullets to the next level. In 1975, just his second season as head coach of the Bullets, Jones led the team to the NBA Finals. Said Jones after eliminating the Celtics in the 1975 Eastern Conference Finals, “I don’t think it’s any great satisfaction beating my old teacher and teammates. I feel bad for them just like I did for the teams that lost to us when I played for the Celtics. But it’s great to be on top.”
