The Celtics yearbook staff must have been feeling wistful as the 1990-91 edition featured a section on Larry Bird’s 50 best moments. They couldn’t have imagined that one more moment would arrive in the 1991 NBA Playoffs against the Indiana Pacers. The night before the deciding Game 5, Bird spent the evening in the hospital with intense back pain. He would go on to start the contest but left in the first half with a concussion. Miraculously, Bird returned to the court to lead a furious second-half comeback and help the Celtics win the game, and the series, in a narrow 124-121 victory.
