Michael Young’s Rare Celtics Artifact
Date: 1984
While he had a Celtics jacket, Michael Young never appeared in a game for the team. A part of the renowned “Phi Slama Jama” Houston squad, Young left the University of Houston as the school’s third all-time leading scorer. Boston selected him with the No. 24 pick of the 1984 NBA Draft. But before the season tipped off, Celtics Head Coach K.C. Jones opted to keep Carlos Clark and Rick Carlisle over Young.
