Pritchard Brings a New Layer
Date: April 7, 2022
Boston chose Payton Pritchard with the No. 26 overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft. The Oregon star had just wrapped up a noteworthy senior campaign where he was named Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year and Pac-12 Player of the Year. As a Celtics rookie, Pritchard became a solid part of the rotation. In his second season, he averaged 6.2 points, 2.0 assists and 1.0 rebounds and appeared in every game of the 2022 NBA Playoffs. “Like I said, being one of our best shooters guys are really looking for him,” said Head Coach Ime Udoka. “You can feel it, you can see, looking for him in transition. So it just adds another layer to our team.”
