The Big Three Bounce Back
Date: 1983-84 season
Boston stormed out of the gate during the 1983-84 season, winning nine of 10 games to start. The team also finished well, winning 10 of 11 down the stretch to post a 62-win campaign and secure the top spot in the Atlantic Division. Larry Bird won his first NBA MVP award, finishing in the top 10 in the league for both points per game (24.2) and rebounds per game (10.1). Plus, his .888 free-throw percentage led the league. The entire Big Three trio made the All-Star team and McHale took home the Sixth Man of the Year award.
