Known for his stellar collegiate career at Vanderbilt, Luke Kornet arrived in Boston from a trade with the Chicago Bulls in March 2021. The 7-foot-2 big man had played 115 games over the previous four years both with the New York Knicks and the Bulls. Although Boston waived Kornet before the 2021-22 season, the team signed him to a new contract that February. “The Green Kornet” appeared in 12 regular-season games and another nine in the playoffs as the Celtics made a run to the 2022 NBA Finals. After the season, Kornet signed a two-year contract with expectations to be a center off the bench.
