The Most From the Chief
Robert Parish wore this jersey, outfitted with a black shoulder patch to commemorate late broadcaster Johnny Most, during the 1992-93 season. Parish, of course, became a Celtics legend in the 1980s after nearly quitting the game, struggling through four tough seasons with the Golden State Warriors. “And that was what was so rewarding about being with the Celtics because they were all about team,” Parish said. “You play for the name on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back of the jersey. So it [the trade to Boston] was refreshing for me because that’s my mentality.” The Celtics benefited from the trade too, winning three NBA World Championship titles with Parish on the roster.
