Tiny’s Big Statement Jacket
Date: 1980s to 1990s
Given the quantity of Celtics players in the Hall of Fame, you could bet the team’s old-timers games fielded a lot of stars. Such was the case in the late 1980s and 1990s when Nate “Tiny” Archibald wore this jacket for Team Lowenbrau, one of the sponsors of the game. Two Hall-of-Fame point guards, Archibald and Bob Cousy, inked the jacket with the phrase “Celtic Pride.” “Those old-timers games are the funniest,” Archibald explained. “Your ego tells you, ‘I can still do this.’ You give a guy your best fake, and he says, ‘Yo, I ain’t going for it.’ The next day, you’re lying in bed, and your knee is faking you out.”
